Edward Bateman – Osteopath
I graduated from the prestigious British School of Osteopathy in London and have over 7 years of clinical experience. Additionally to my Masters in Osteopathy I have undertaken postgraduate study in medical acupuncture, Pilates (mat work), myofascial release and function movement analysis (Gray Institute – 3DMAPS®).
In my approach I uses a combination of these different elements to tailor treatments to help alleviate your symptoms and generate a rehabilitation plan to help limit future issues. My aim is to help your body get back on track as soon as possible! This in turn allows you to regain confidence in your movements and return to normal function, reducing the development of compensatory patterns and other knock on issues. A key factor in recovering from dysfunction is providing you with as much education about your issue as possible. Empowering you to understand what is going on and help your own recovery and to limit as much dependence on me as the therapist as possible. By doing this I provide you hands on treatment when needed and give you ‘homework’ and coping strategies to help keep you moving and functioning well.
Comfortable clothes are recommended for appointments – sports bra/vest and leggings, shorts. This allows me to see how various parts of your body are moving and facilitates hands on treatment.
I am fully registered and a member of the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), Institute of Osteopathy (iO) and British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS).
